The reason I’m posting the picture above is to motivate myself. I feel like eating Sizzling Tiyan ng Bangus (Sizzling Milkfish Belly) tonight. Tee-hee.

I haven’t been taking much pictures of food I’ve been eating lately, which is rather unusual since I’ve sort of acquired the habit, (or developed the hobby, because that sounds better) sometimes to the controlled annoyance (I think) of people I dine with (in my case, most of the time, usually my wife.) Obviously, they’re ticked off not necessarily at the actual act of me photographing the food itself, but, for the slight delay of consumption.

“Make it quick,” The Wifey would often remind me.

I am discreet at all times whenever I do food photography. It’s not that I lug around a huge DSLR, flash, and with the appropriate macro lens, drawing attention to myself, and walking around our table snapping away like some pro as if in the comforts of his own studio. I do it as casually as possible, shooting from where I’m seated, no flash, using only whatever available light at the dining place.

And then I post them online when I have the time to sift through the shots. I’m glad I’m not the only one who does this stuff, for I love looking at pictures of food taken from restaurants all over the world.
